The Crocheted: Scorpion

Description

My most recent project. My brother requested a scorpion for his birthday.
Because I'm lazy, it took me about 3 weeks to create it. But that includes several days I really did nothing for it. ;)
This will probably be the most elaborate work for quite a while. Those legs were such a pain to crochet and sew on, because they are so very slim and need wire to enable the scorpion to actually stand. The whole process was accompanied with many curses and stab wounds from blunt needles... :XD:
On the other hand, I loved the challenge and am quite pleased with the result. There are a few things I could do better next time. I just know that "next time" is somewhere in the far future. :D

Consists of 26 separate pieces and 8 beads (= eyes).
WIP
I used several photos and anatomy illustrations as reference to get it as realistic as possible. It still turned out cuter than the real thing. :giggle:

Size:
17cm (6.7") long
11cm (4.3") wide
16cm (6.3") high

This probably the most outstanding crocheted piece I've seen on deviant art. The overall detail and structure is perfect! One of the details I love the most must be fact that the legs can support the weight of the overall plush, and in such an intimidating stance as well!

The colors you chose have been excellently used, the bright toned legs are a very good touch to the dark body. The pincers are very cute, hell, if it weren't the fact that it was crocheted, I'd be quite scared!

I'd like to know what is it that you would improve next time if you took this on, because honestly, I don't see anything that has to be fixed. Congrats on making such an astounding piece of work!
